Under the supervision of the Radiation Oncologist, Chief Radiation Therapist, and Director of Oncology Services, the staff Radiation Therapist accurately delivers ionizing radiation to the patients in accordance with the planned treatment prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. The staff radiation therapist will assist as needed in all aspects of the Radiation Oncology Department functions, such as patient care, patient treatment delivery, patient treatment records, radiation safety, quality assurance and patient follow-up programs.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of approved program in Radiation Therapy Technology preferred. Graduate of accredited radiography program plus graduate of an accredited Radiation Oncology Program (12 months).
At least 6 months clinical experience working in a state of the art radiation oncology facility, using newer technology and techniques. Experience using Elekta Mosaiq, Elekta Synergy linac, and Philips Brilliance CT sim is valuable.
Licensed by the ARRT in Radiation Therapy Technology and Radiologic Technology.
BLS certificate required.
Aria 13.6 or greater preferred
Varian Equipment including proficiency on TrueBeam preferred
CT Simulation experience preferred
Brachytherapy experience preferred
Minimum one (1) year experience post ARRT certification preferred
Bachelor's degree in an approved program of radiologic technology or health care field preferred
