M Health Fairview is looking for a MRI Technologist at M Health Fairview at Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. Imaging Technologists provide services to patients and physicians through the creation of high quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team.This position will support open shifts to optimize staffing to patient volumes.
This is a benefit eligible position, 8 hour work days, primarily assigned to the evening shift (3PM-11PM). This position is a 1.0 FTE.
Positions within the department are not regularly scheduled to take on-call services. The typical schedule is Monday-Friday 3P-11P. Southdale offers 24/7 Imaging services to Inpatient Units and Emergency patients. We have outpatient access Monday-Saturday's. The MRI department offers imaging care to in-patients, out-patients and emergent patients. The technologists work collaboratively within the Imaging team and amongst varying levels of clinical practitioners. The MRI technologist will provide imaging services to a wide variety of examinations from Neuro, Body, Muskuloskeletal, Breast and Vascular.
Identifies relevant data from images accurately
Uses appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs.
Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional
Participates in creating a culture of patient safety
Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness
Verify patient identification and documentation
Communicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol
Ensures patient data integrity
Adheres to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures
Accurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes
Follows infection control guidelines
Serves as a resource for other healthcare team members
Responds appropriately to emergent situations
Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving
Assesses the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substances
Acts as a resource for problem-solving resolution
Technical Certificate and /or Associate Degree in Radiology
BLS - must be current and from the American Red Cross and American Heart Association
Prior MRI Experience (1+ years)
ARRT MRI certification or successful completion within 18 months of hire
