Medical Instrument Technicians at this level operate and monitor commonly used equipment performing routine procedures and more complex studies under indirect supervision. The technician functions somewhat independently in carrying out these standardized procedures of more complexity.Certification by ARDMS is highly desirable. Some of the duties required are, but are not limited to: Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct routine and complex sonography examinations in accordance with infections disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
