Your Role :
The Medical Receptionist, Cardiology Stepdown, supports delivery of patient care by providing clerical and receptionist services to patients, families, visitors, staff, physicians, departments that support patient care, and all other customers of a Patient Care Unit with regular guidance. Processes orders, enters and updates information in computer systems, makes follow-up appointments and performs various administrative tasks, patient payments, insurance and billing. Outstanding customer service essential. Facilitates efficient workflow, supports appropriate use of technology, and fosters effective communication.
A typical day in the Cardiac Stepdown Unit, also known as 8 South, includes being in an environment that is fast paced and characterized by great teamwork. On the Cardiac Step Down Unit, patients are 18 years or older who are being treated for various vascular disorders such as aneurysms and amputations, as well as patients with congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, arrhythmias and pre-and-post op cardiothoracic surgeries.
