Overview:
SCOPE: Manages the day to day operations of mammogram screening and diagnostic, ultra sound exams, stereotactic biopsies and gamma imaging exams. Assures compliance with appropriate regulatory agencies related to patient and employee safety. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees screening and diagnostic breast imaging services within budget guidelines in accordance with clinic and government standards. Maintains compliance to ACR, MQSA, and TDH. Reviews departmental performance and ensures compliance with accreditation, legal and other regulatory requirements.
- Develops departmental goals and objectives. Establishes and implements screening and diagnostic imaging policies and procedures and recommends improvements as appropriate.
- Oversees daily quality control measures to monitor machine performance. Maintains and inspects equipment and materials. Reports all malfunctions and/or need for adjustments to the proper company or facility. Arranges preventive maintenance as recommended by vendor.
- Maintains radiation detection badges and radiation reports.
- Oversees maintenance of adequate inventory of clinical and clerical supplies for department to ensure efficient operations.
- Performs the duties of a technologist by screening and diagnostic mammograms, stereotactic biopsies and gamma imaging exams. Assists radiologist with ultrasound exams.
- Provides on-going job related education and training to staff. May develop training materials. Develops and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs) continually improving efficiencies.
- Coaches and develops staff. Responsible for interviewing, recommending hires, assessing performance, recommending salary changes, and progressive discipline. Enforces adherence to Company policies.
- Other duties as requested or assigned.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree in Radiology or Ultrasound Technology. Must have a current CPR certificate, American Registry of Radiology Technologist (Mammography), or current state license. Minimum seven (7) years experience in mammography technology. At least two years supervisor experience required.

Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
