The Ferguson Nazareth Family Endowed Initiative for Medical Students and Residents From Historically Underrepresented Groupsat Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) in New York City is seeking two highly motivated second-year radiology residents (PGY3) from underrepresented backgrounds in medicine to participate each in a one-month in-person away elective in the Departmentof Radiology, either in April (April 3 to April 28) or in May (May 1 to May 26) of 2023.

The elective is designed to give individuals who are underrepresented in medicine exposure to the field of oncologic imaging as well as opportunities within that field, including MSK's own fellowship programs.

PROGRAMThe applicant will spend a month within the Department of Radiology and will rotate through different sections (body imaging, breast imaging, neuroradiology, interventional radiology, molecular imaging and therapy, and imaging therapeutics), which will be organized based on their interests and availability. The applicant will be expected to participate in lectures, seminars, and conferences geared toward the fellows, observers, and rotating Weill Cornell residents, and will be assigned a faculty mentor for the month. The applicant will be named a Ferguson Nazareth Clinical Scholar and will be provided with housing as well as a $2,500 stipend to help cover the cost of travel and living expenses.

ELIGIBILITYThis elective is open to all candidates who identify as part of an underrepresented group in medicine and fulfill the requirements of MSK. Applicants must also be a part of a residency programaccredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) within the United States and be in their second year of their radiology residency (PGY-3) in April/May of 2023.
