The role you’ll contribute:
The Neurodiagnostic Technologist provides self-directed care and must be proficient and knowledgeable of all aspects of neurological testing to include: routine electroencephalographic studies, intraoperative electroencephalographic studies, and long-term epilepsy monitoring and evoked potential procedures on the neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. Candidates must also have the ability to: communicate effectively with physicians, patients, nursing staff, department heads and administrative personnel; track preventative maintenance needs of all departmental equipment; organize work and adjust priorities as needed. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel between campuses to perform job duties. Must be able to cover variable weekends and take call in rotation.

- Independently performs standard and complex intraoperative electroencephalographic studies, long-term epilepsy monitoring and evoked potential procedures in an accurate and efficient manner
- Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost and impact on practice in the delivery of Neurodiagnostic services
- Practices the fundamentals of AIDET to promote excellent patient care and experience
- Resource instructor for the education of the Neurodiagnostic Department and field for students, nursing and other departments
- Eligiable to serve as Lead Technologist with the additional principal duites and job responsibilites as listed:
- Serves as the primary technologist for the Long-Term Monitoring unit
- Coordinates the Long-Term monitoring unit scheduling and operations
- Acts as a clinical resource instructor to all of the staff
- Is the secondary liaison to the physicians
- Responsible for monthly QA inspection
- Co-Author of Lab accreditation process
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Multi-registry by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalograph Technologists (ABRET)

High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Graduate from an accredited Neurodiagnostic educational program
-
Certification by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalograph Technologists (ABRET)

Current registry in a minimum of one other certification, i.e. Evoked Potentials, Intraoperative Monitoring or Long-Term Epilepsy Monitoring

Two (2) year minimum working in the Neurodiagnostic field

Advanced knowledge of all service lines provided in the Neurodiagnostic Services Department

Ability to communicate well and able to work in a stressful situations
- Demonstrates ability to perform standard and complex electrographic studies in a safe and effective manner
- Demonstrates ability to work independently
- Has a working knowledge of infection control requirements and demonstrates this in practice
