Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full Time Cat Scan Tech. the position will be working varrious hours at Newton Medical Center.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
TEAM APPROACH AND STANDARD DUTIES:
The CT technologist will exhibit a high level of professionalism when performing/adhering to the following duties/standards:
Ready to begin work at scheduled time
Responds in a timely manner when assigned to call schedule
Maintains all licensure and certifications (CPR, Venipuncture)
Follows all CT protocols. Sends images correctly to PAC s, workstations,and RIS
Archives all procedures routinely
CEnsures completion and verifies studies in a timely manner so exams can be dictated
Ensures correct and complete documentation in the medical record
PREPARES EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES FOR SPECIFIC PROCEDURES
Demonstrates professionalism & excellence when performing tasks related to CT procedures
Obtains necessary medical, surgical and radiological supplies for specific procedures according to established protocols
Prepares sterile trays Maintains sterility of field and instruments
Adheres to venipucture and power injector protocols
Correctly prepares requisitions and labels for specimens
Maintains QA/QC requirements
Recognizes unusual conditions in the operation of equipment
Alerts appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions.(professionalism and service excellence)
ENSURES PATIENTS PHYSICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL COMFORT
Communicates with patients & family before, during and after the CT exam or procedure to alleviate patient anxiety
Adhere to all HIPPA regulations and respect the patients privacy
Monitors patient's pulse, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation when necessary
Observes patients condition before and after contrast injections and reports any sudden change to the nursing staff and Radiologist
Ensures availability of medicals records, previous reports, labs and history of patient
Verifies patient identification according to the AHS policy.(2 identifiers)
Is able to begin emergency response in case of complication

MAINTAINS SPECIFIC INVENTORY RECORDS AND ENSURES AREA IS STOCKED WITH ADEQUATE SUPPLIES
Maintains adequate linen supplies
Maintains adequate contrast media and biopsy/drainage supplies
Maintains a clean and organized work environment within the CT suite
Ensures proper care of medical equipment
Maintain inventories of CT supplies
Participates in the routine cleaning of the CT gantry, table and periferal equipment after each use. (professionalism, team work, service excellence)
COMMUNICATES EFFECTIVELY WITH SUPERVISORS, FELLOW EMPLOYEES AND OTHER DEPARTMENTS
The Ct technologist will peform the following taskes with respect, and professionalism:
Informs Lead Technologist/Coordinator/Manager of any equipment malfunctions or concerns within the CT section
Uses a pleasant and informative manner in communication with patients, patients' families, staff and other departments within the hospital, particularly when updating patients/staff/physicians on any delays
Maintains a pleasant and professional telephone manner
Maintains a professional and cooperative demeanor with co-workers
Takes messages accurately, completely and relays to the proper personnel
Utilizes the Vocera system in a proper manner.(respect professionalism)
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Graduate of an AMA certified radiography program required
License/Certifications:
Advanced certification in CT required
State licensed ARRT (R) (CT) required
Current BLS certification required
Relevant Experience:
1-3 years of acute expereince preferred
