The Advanced Field Service Engineer I repairs, maintains, tests, and calibrates basic diagnostic imaging equipment/systems to ensure its safe and proper operation. These basic systems include portables, C-arms, R&F, Mammography, CR and Digital Rad Rooms, Injectors and Ultrasound. The Field Service Engineer maximizes patient safety by supporting the proper use, application and operational performance of patient care equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) according to hospital policies, procedures and industry-recognized standards, using specialized test equipment, tools, and simulation devices.
Maintains, services, troubleshoots and calibrates a variety of basic diagnostic imaging systems by using manufacturer service manuals, schematic diagrams, and vendor expertise.
Identifies the most prudent means of repair based on clinical need and cost. Documents all service events, performance tests and corrective maintenance according to department policy, using computerized maintenance management software applications and other standard office software applications.
Responsible for ordering repair parts, timely return of applicable repair parts, and timely submission of applicable order-related documentation.
Assists with assigned projects, related to the installation, relocation, and disposal of medical imaging equipment/systems.
Communicates effectively with customer(s) using various communication tools, to establish rapport with staff and to keep clinical staff and appropriate clinical management informed as to the status of repairs.
Communicates and works in conjunction with imaging equipment service providers to facilitate efficient equipment installs and repairs.
Participates in and/or assists with development of departmental and hospital-based continuous quality improvement initiatives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must possess a valid drivers license and clean driving record for the last 5 years Must be able to travel between all Baylor Scott and White facilities as assigned.
Must be able to stay overnight when traveling over 2 hours in any one direction, when deemed necessary by HTM management.
Must maintain the assigned Baylor Scott and White owned vehicle in accordance with BSWH policy.
Must make every effort to protect and secure the assigned BSWH vehicle and contents at all times.
Must comply with all state laws and parking regulations while operating the assigned BSWH vehicle.
Must accurately maintain a truck inventory of parts, tools and test equipment on a monthly basis.
Must participate in the on-call rotation for the specified specialty or HTM geography as assigned.
Must possess a fully functioning smart phone, which BSWH will provide a stipend for, to respond to all calls and work orders.
Must be able to cover small expenses due to travel, for which BSWH will reimburse based on BSWH policy for reimbursable expenses.
Able to repair, maintain, test, and calibrate basic diagnostic imaging equipment/systems to ensure safe and proper operation.
Able to routinely travel to other Baylor, Scott & White facilities to assist with scheduled and unscheduled service activities.
Able to effectively communicate with and interact with customers, providers and team members.
Able to participate in on-call rotation.
Able to effectively self-manage time and assigned projects.
Must have the physical ability to lift and move material weighing up to 40 pounds.
Knowledge of computer systems and networking.

Associate's Degree or Equivelent Experience
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 2 years experience required
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION
Drivers License (TXDL): Must have a Texas driver's license or obtain within 90 days of hire.
