POSITION SUMMARY
Radiology Associates of Florida is seeking a qualified candidate to staff a remote evening neuroradiologist position. This is a rewarding position with plenty of time off and flexibility. RAF is the largest private practice in Florida, servicing hospitals and health care systems that are perennially ranked among the best in the state and country. We are physician-owned and democratically run, and we benefit from robust support staff and state of the art IT.
This full-time neuroradiologist will join a newly established Emergency and Trauma Radiology section in RAF’s Acute Care Radiology Division. This is an exciting opportunity to serve a state-of-the-art hospital, Tampa General Hospital, with a full academic appointment at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine working with medical students, residents and fellows. In addition to independent clinical work reading Acute Care radiology, this radiologist would remotely “read out” residents from USF Radiology, contributing to their education. Tampa General Hospital is a private-not-for-profit hospital and one of the most comprehensive medical facilities in West Central Florida serving a dozen counties with a population in excess of 4 million. As one of the largest hospitals in Florida, Tampa General is licensed for 1040 beds, and with more than 8,000 team members, is one of the region’s largest employers. It is consistently recognized for world-class care.
Shift hours are 3 p.m.- 11 p.m. EST working 7-on/7-off. We have crafted this role to have the convenience of a teleradiologist position with the stability, teamwork, and quality of a premier private practice. While you will have the convenience of working from home, you will develop a relationship with your referring physicians and radiologist colleagues as you service a limited set of clients rather than a sprawling network across multiple time zones.
Candidates can expect a case mix of 100% neuroradiology, reading mostly emergent and with some post op cases. Our culture of teamwork means that your body of work can be tailored to your comfort zone, and we have subspecialty radiologists supporting the same worklists.
We offer competitive pay and abundant 100%-voluntary per-click moonlighting during your time off. Expect a full suite of benefits and pre-tax salary deductions for education and business expenses. Our dedicated staff will handle all licensing and credentialing needs. Please contact us so we can arrange a chat with our physicians and teammates.
LOCAL PRACTICE AND COMMUNITY OVERVIEW
RAF is the largest radiology practice in Florida. We serve the most prestigious, established health systems in the state, including on the east and west coasts, the Florida Panhandle, and the Keys. Since our beginnings more than 50 years ago, we’ve enjoyed tremendous growth while keeping a commitment to superior service for our longtime partner hospitals. Our scale affords our practice stability and affords our radiologists flexibility in study mix and scheduling. We also recognize that scale alone does not beget excellence. We are quality-oriented, and we practice radiology at the cutting edge, encouraging subspecialty-level interpretations across the practice, and facilitating collaboration and consultation between our radiologists. Our state-of-the-art IT suite includes universal PACS across the practice, AI tools, and integrated doc-to-doc communication widgets.
Our practice is locally and democratically led, with decisions vested in the hands of the group at large, rather than in a few founders or a small group of shareholders. We are the teaching physicians for the University of South Florida Department of Radiology in Tampa. In Sarasota, our physicians staff the Florida State University College of Medicine, hosting medical students in their 3rd and 4th years. We also invite residents from the FSU Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine Residency programs to rotate in our departments.
Our diverse group of radiologists work and socialize together in our communities around Florida. Even between our communities across the state, we are one practice. We have a vibrant mix of highly experienced radiologists, as well as emerging leaders in our large cohort of early-career radiologists. We look forward to letting you get to know us better!
The ideal candidate will be comfortable reading all areas of neuroradiology and emergency with a focus on Acute Care Radiology (Emergency Room, ICU, Trauma, etc.)
Candidates must be a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy and residency trained in the practice of Diagnostic Radiology
Board eligible or certified by the American Board of Radiology or the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology
Candidates with fellowship training in any sub-specialty will be considered in addition to non-fellowship trained General Radiologists
Medical license, or the ability to obtain a license, to practice in the state of FL
Fellows and residents welcome to apply
