Department Overview
Children's Home Care Pharmacy serves around 200 patients around the metro area. We provide infusion therapies including antibiotics, parenteral nutrition, hydration, immune globulins, factor products and enteral nutrition. We are open Monday through Friday 8 am-5 pm, closed on Holidays, have an on-call team to cover weekends and evenings. We work closely with the Home Care Nursing team to provide safe, efficient and quality care to our patients.
Position Summary
The Pharmacy Technician has, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities in the Pharmacy Department: Intravenous product preparation, Unit does cartfill, inventory management, automated and decentralized medication stocking (Pyxis), outpatient prescriptions. The percentage of time that a particular technician spends on specific responsibilities will differ depending on the number of tasks the technician is trained to complete. Technicians must be internally trained in a task prior to performing the task on their own.
Location: On-site (MPS and/or SP)
Active technician registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy OR active registration as a pharmacy intern in the state of Minnesota with concurrent active enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy is required. For newly registered technicians/registered interns without Tech 240 certification, you will be required to complete 240 hours of theoretical and practical training on-site within twelve months of hire.
Certified as a pharmacy technician (CPhT) is preferred, but not required.
Active registration as a pharmacy intern in the state of MN with active enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy may be accepted in leu of CPhT certification.
