HonorHealth, a leader in Women's Health Services in Scottsdale, Arizona, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner with a focus in high-risk obstetrics.
HonorHealth Shea Medical Center provides full-spectrum Obstetrics and Gynecology. It is the hub for women's healthcare in the area. It is a Level 3 NICU and they perform over 6,000 deliveries annually.
Scottsdale Shea’s High-Risk Obstetrical Unit is equipped and staffed to manage pregnancy complications, including those that may result in a premature birth. An array of trained specialists and team members, including high-risk pregnancy doctors, are available 24/7. This helps lower the mortality rate for infants and women with pregnancy complications. Within the High-Risk Obstetrical Unit, is a Coordinated Care Center (CCC) with specialized care staff who provide personalized care plans when either mother or baby is diagnosed with a complex medical situation.
The Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner responsibilities include:
CCC Program – currently averaging 50 pts in the program
Oversee and daily rounding of Antepartum patients
Available as needed for patient care/emergencies/RNFA duties on unit
Work with physicians on consults and questions about patients on units
Manage OB order sets in Epic (make changes, review, add as needed)
Policies & Procedures – write and review every 2 years
Teach: ACLS – OB (5x/yr), Advanced FM (5x/yr), Intermediate FM (2x/yr), FM Instructors Course (2x/yr), Triage Course (2x/yr), Bedside Ultrasound Course (6-7x/yr)
Committees: IRB, REDI (Nursing Research), APRN Committee, OB Gyn committees both Hospitals, OB Quality Committees, AIM Committee, ED/OB collaboration/ education
Research on OB units (varies with projects)
Publication and Presentation of work
Additional duties as assigned
The ideal candidate has 3+ years of L&D nursing experience, ultrasound experience and has their RNFA. WHNP is preferred.
