The Eastern Oklahoma VA Healthcare System (EOVAHCS) is seeking a Staff Anesthesiologist Physician to serve as our Nation’s Hero’s at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee, OK. Our ideal candidate will enjoy a busy, clinical practice and be board certified/Board Eligible in General Anesthesiology.
The Staff Physician may have teaching opportunities due to our association with Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (OSUCOM) and the Oklahoma University of Oklahoma College of Medicine (OUCOM) program. Qualified applicants will have an MD/DO, current medical license, and be board-certified or board-eligible in Anesthesiology.
The staff Anesthesiologist is the bread and butter of the Surgery department. They cover general surgery, orthopedics, knee, and shoulder arthroplasty, ophthalmology, and urology. Vascular cases. No heart, neurology, or trauma.Work with a strong core of CRNAs. 90% supervision and 10% doing your own cases.
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Backup call from home with the goal of Q3. In 2023, the anesthesiologist has not been called to the hospital while on backup call.)
We are offering a sign-on bonus!
$325,000 to 400,000 compensation package based on training, experience, and local labor market
Annual performance bonus of up to an additional $15,000 K per year

Licensure: 1 full & and unrestricted active U.S. license is required.
CME: $1,000/year
Malpractice: VHA physicians are covered under the Federal Tort Claims Act

Contract buy out program: VHA Contract Buy Out Program: This position may be eligible for the Physician / Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which authorizes VHA to buy out service contracts (Locum agreements, loan repayments, sign-on bonus contracts, Physician-owned practices) in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a period of obligated service (minimum 4 years).

Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S.
Board Certification in Anesthesiology. Board Eligibility may also be considered.
