JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant, Certified functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing direct patient care. The Medical Assistant, certified performs routine administrative and patient care supportive duties in a Health System medical practice that assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure the clinic/office runs smoothly.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Room Patients and intake to include medications, history and vital signs. Complete orders as per provider:
Set Up/Assisting with Procedures
Simple Wound Care s Suture/Staple removal
Vital signs including Pulse oximetry
Preparation/Labeling of medication for administration by provider
Prepare and assist with procedures
Sclerotherapies
Endovenous Laser Ablations
Radiofrequency Laser Ablations
Review future clinic schedules, call patients for upcoming appointments and procedures
Clean and stock rooms. Monitor for supply and medication expirations dates. Unbox ordered supplies
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
High school or GED graduation required.
Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required. Please specify on resume which certification you have, certification number, and expiration date.
BLS required
